A Walk Alone

I was walking alone.

I started talking to myself

And soon another voice joined in.

I looked neither left nor right.

We spoke the entire length of the walk.

I stepped inside without checking

For my shadow.

The door closed and I sighed with a grin.

I was happy for the company.
