Caverns of Light
Caverns of Light
Her soul was lying in wait. Her eyes searched all around.
She found herself below the Earth, wandering through caverns of light.
The heavenly sight opened the third eye she kept closed. Night
turned into day and day turned into night as she touched the walls of this
secret place.
Time was nothing now. She had escaped the sunset. Death
waited for her to emerge, but stood disappointed.
She crept, then walked, then ran through the caverns of
light. The power inside whispered its secrets to her. She laughed then wept at
the truth she was told.
There was a knock that echoed throughout. There was a baby’s
cry that fell on deaf hearts. There was a magic that no one believed in.
She came to a pool of celestial desire. The power seemed to
call to her. She dipped her hand in. She felt a spark. She smiled and jumped
in.
How could she foresee the visions that came to her? How
could she have known the universe was lying in wait for her to explore its
caverns of light?
There was a taste of fear as she spilled into the cosmos.
That fear was vanquished as she crossed the roads of infinite dimensions.
Nothing was held back. All was revealed to her. The tune
called to her and she answered. She heard its sound and sang along.
Still, it made her wonder. All the beauty, all the darkness
within the light. She watched the universes creation and bore witness to its
destruction.
She saw a lady she thought she knew. Pushing a stone up a
cliff. At the top the stone broke and scattered into a trillion stars.
In that moment she knew that the loneliness she had in the
world she left behind, had been swallowed up in the wholeness of the night.
The mistress of life kissed her cheek. The patron saint of
sinners raised her up. The queen of the undying welcomed her with a crown of
nebulas.
She felt her existence fading into the unknown. In the
blackness she carved her definitions. This place she had found could no longer
hold her.
She tore reality to pieces. Creating passageways of
shimmering colors. She passed through, into the unknown. As the caverns of
light glimmered one last time for her.
