Wasting My Time With You
Am I wasting my time with you?
Sounds harsh, right?
But it’s just a question.
The kind that cuts through the crap
And straight to the point.
You tell me you’re on a
Journey of self-discovery?
You’ve got to figure out who you are
Before you can make any decisions?
If you don’t want me
Say so.
Don’t play with me.
Don’t string me along like some
Dimwitted loser.
Don’t act like I’m the charity case
You’ve decided to watch over for
The next little while.
Believe it or not I have feelings too.
I have a life that I’m trying to build
But you don’t see that.
Your problems are too big for
Anyone else to handle.
Your life’s so busy that
You just can’t even right now.
So let me ask you again.
Am I wasting my time with you?
Because there’s another side to this.
You’ve got a journey to go on
And that’s just fine.
But wherever you’re going
May I come to?
You need to figure out who you are?
Sweet.
May I figure out who I am
Alongside you?
If you do want me
Say so.
Don’t play with me.
Be honest.
Whatever you choose I’ll
Turn out OK.
Believe it or not I have feelings for you.
I have a life I’m trying to build
But I wanna build it with you.
Your problems are big.
So are mine.
Let’s lop ‘em together and
Leave ‘em for another day.
Your life’s so busy that to try and carve out
A single hour in a week
Would be insanity
But that's OK.
I like crazy.
So.
Let me ask you a third time.
Am I wasting my time with you?
Because honestly,
I hope so.
